Trump Accounts for Kids – Dell Family Contribution
In our recent email, we discussed the new Trump Account program and the government-funded investment accounts available for certain children born between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2028. Since sending that email, additional information has become available that may be of interest to families whose children do not qualify for the federal contribution. Michael and Susan Dell have announced a $6.25 billion commitment intended to provide a $250 contribution to approximately 25 million children through the Trump Account program.
A child may qualify for the Dell-funded contribution if he or she:
- Is age 10 or younger and was born before January 1, 2025
- Lives in a ZIP code with a median household income of $150,000 or less
- Has a Trump Account opened and activated by a parent or guardian.
Final Thoughts
Children receiving the federal $1,000 contribution are generally not expected to receive the separate Dell-funded contribution. Families interested in determining eligibility can review program information and begin the account setup process by clicking here Trump Account.
According to the Treasury Department, parents can also file IRS Form 4547 and complete activation through the Trump Accounts website or app. Accounts begin accepting contributions on July 4, 2026. At this time, the Dell contribution has not been announced as a first-come, first-served program. Additional guidance regarding enrollment and funding procedures may be released as the program continues to roll out. As additional information becomes available regarding eligibility, enrollment, and funding procedures, we will continue to share updates.
